These NEW 1200 series units are based on commercial electronic scales the gravimetric (fill by weight) units offer accurate and rapid filling of containers up to 200 litre capacity. Two different basic models; 1200 (5 to 30 litres) and 1201 (20 to 200 litres) are available in either top fill or sub surface (bottom up) fill configuration. Sub surface fill mechanisms incorporate a hydro pneumatic drive the lance, to facilitate precise synchronisation with the fill rate, and also include a feature which ensures that the lance does not retract from the container before the fill is complete.

All machines incorporate a two stage cutoff and nondrip nozzles to ensure accurate and clean filling of a wide range of products. All product contact parts are manufactured from stainless steel or suitable plastics, and construction is generally corrosion resistant. Flow rate is adjustable for both the bulk and dribble phases of the fill. Provision must be made to pump or gravity feed product to the machine at compatible rates.

In semi automatic operation (after the final weight, dribble and preact values are entered) a container is placed on the scale platform and, if necessary, the opening positioned in line with the filling nozzle. If a predetermined tare value has not been entered individual containers may be tared manually, a fully automatic tare facility is also available. The fill cycle is then initiated by either push button or foot pedal, the bulk of the fill (85 to 95 percent) being dispensed at a fast rate and the remainder being restricted to a dribble to ensure accurate shut off at the desired weight. With subsurface fill units the lance extends to the bottom of the container before filling commences and pauses until the product level rises to cover the tip, then retracts slowly with the fill level, finally withdrawing from the container at a faster rate after the fill is complete. The fill cycle is aborted if the lance touches the container during its downward movement, thus preventing damage should the opening be incorrectly aligned.

The 1200 range includes single and dual head automated units, any of which may incorporate automatic orientation of the container opening if required. Recording and statistical facilities may also be provided.
Machines are adaptable for use in hazardous goods areas (class 1, zone 1). In these cases protection is afforded by a combination of EXD (flameproof) and EXI (intrinsically safe) techniques.

Typical outputs (single head units):
20 litre: 2 to 3 containers per minute
200 litre: 1 container per minute

Features include:
- Bulk filling system for accurate filling of liquid products into jerry cans, drums, and IBCs,
- Gravimetric (fill by weight on scales) or flow meter control for measuring the fill,
- Top fill or controlled subsurface filling options with fixed or pantograph nozzle mechanism,
- Able to fill 4 drums on a pallet with disc brakes on pivot points during fill cycle,
- Pre and post nitrogen purging of vessel during filling cycle,
- Output upto 10 tonnes (50 x 200 litre containers) per hour,
- 2 stage product shut off for maximum accuracy,
- A range of shutoff nozzles for clean filling and drip catching outside the lance,
- Various degrees of automation achieved with gravity rollers and powered conveyor systems,
- PLC control of all functions ensures exceptional reliability and integration with other equipment.
